The Philadelphia Solar Energy Association
(PSEA) is a nonprofit volunteer driven organization since 1978 promoting
solar education with lectures and special events. In particular,
PSEA holds meetings featuring invited speakers
with diverse energy and environmental related interests
PSEA enables new members an extensive network
of builders, tradesmen, architects, scientists, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs
who have experience in developing alternative energy and energy efficient
projects
PSEA volunteers act to shape public policies
which impact renewable energy technology adoption in the utility, housing,
transportation, and commercial markets
PSEA is working with the Energy Coordinating Agency
and the Philadelphia Million Solar Roofs Partnership as local coordinator of
the National Solar Home Tour for Southeastern PA which is held each fall.
PSEA is the working with Clean Air Council as
local coordinator of the National Solar Home Tour for Southeastern Pennsylvania
which is held each fall
PSEA has had several projects promoting solar
energy including collaboration with the West Philadelphia Habitat for Humanity
to develop and test a prototype low energy requirement rowhome
