| Description
Ellen Sherk and her son live in a
4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home; part of a subdivision in Fort Washington, PA.
Energy Star appliances can be found throughout the house and additional
skylights and south facing windows provide free daylighting.
When asked about her decision to
install the panels Ellen explains that she felt it was “time to do something
right for the environment”. The panels are mounted flush to the
roof of the garage providing easy access to both the home owner and the
contractors. Ellen was able to take advantage of grant money given by the
Sustainable Development Fund and is one of the first to benefit from the
Energy Cooperative’s solar buyback program; a program that buys gross solar
electricity generated by PV owners at a premium price.
